Strong Strategy, Impeccable Execution
The Challenge
This business was spending upwards of $80,000 sponsoring events within the community. Their previous Marketing Manager implemented this strategy for brand awareness. However, they were not seeing any return on investment.
The Solution
We crafted an intergrated communication strategy to not only gather leads, but also effectively communicate to them following the event.
We decided to test different lead capture strategies at different events. Firstly, we worked with the sponsorship teams that we were partnering with to provide high quality ‘door prizes.’
For the first event we used lead capture cards, asking for a name & email address to enter the draw. The second event we used SMS entries asking for name & email address (also capturing mobile numbers by default).
After the event we followed up with a custom landing pages, blogs and a 4 part email trail and phone calls for the event that we captured phone numbers.
The Business Results
The results were exceptional!

Event 1: We captured 180 quality leads out of 250 attendees using lead capture cards. The communication strategy that followed cemented the businesses dedication to this market segment and resulted in 5 new clients within the first 6 weeks and ongoing workplace presentations at a major enterprise. The comment from the Human Resources Manager when looking to book in the first workplace presentation was
“The event was fantastic, but I was hooked each week reading the blogs you sent. The presentations you offer sound perfect for the women in our business.”
Event 2: We captured 576 quality leads from 700 attendee’s via SMS for this event. We replicated the strategy for event 1 with a few changes integrating the mobile numbers collected and different content for that market segment. It is still early days but we have had 90% engagement with the messages so far.
